imagesAccording to a KPMG survey, the Bookseller reports, 4% of the British population has read an ebook.  The bad news, however, is that 70% spent nothing on the book.  In further figures, nineteen percent spent up to £5 and 7% spent between £5-£25 for their ebook.

The survey also found that 68% of respondents said they had read a traditional book in the last month, 39% of of Britishers spent up to £10 on books last month and 13% spent between £10-£25.

I wonder what sort of books the 70% who paid nothing were reading – promotional, classics, pirated?  It’s a figure that certainly needs some more explanation.  If anyone comes across the actual study please let us know.
