fintie kindle paperwhite caseAfter my last experience with trying to purchase a case for my Kindle Paperwhite, I took a few weeks to figure out what I wanted in a case, and I went to KBoards for a recommendation. They came through with a great little case: the [easyazon-link asin=”B009S2CXJC” locale=”us”]Fintie Kindle Paperwhite[/easyazon-link] folio case.

When I purchased my first case, I thought I wanted one that didn’t cover the bezel, and I still do like that style of case. However, after I returned the first one, I discovered that I enjoy sometimes reading my device “naked,” and I decided I wanted something that was easy to remove. The snap-in style cases that don’t cover the bezel are often difficult to remove. I abhor elastic loops, so there was no way I was getting a case with those!

The Fintie Kindle Paperwhite case so far has met all my needs. The price was right ($12.99 for the Navy version). It’s attractive. I like the black accent spine which makes it look more like a book. The device is easy to remove. You just lift up the velcro flap and pull it out.

Although it’s made of synthetic leather, there is very little smell. I have to make a point of lifting it to my nose and sniffing to notice. While reading, I don’t smell it at all.

It’s comfortable to hold, both one and two-handed. I was surprised at how well it worked, folded back and held with my left hand. Previous form-fitting cases were awkward for left-handed use, but this one is comfortable, even for long periods of time. In fact, it’s so comfortable one-handed that I haven’t taken it out of the case since it arrived.

The auto sleep/wake function is completely reliable. It hasn’t failed once in the week or so that I’ve been using the case.

I have one tiny complaint. The suede interior bulges slightly on the left-hand panel. It’s subtle and only shows at certain angles, but I do find myself smoothing it down, trying to get it to be completely flat. It’s a tiny problem, however, and hasn’t affected my enjoyment of the case.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive, easy-to-remove case for your Paperwhite, look no farther. This one is great.
