ipadjobsNot all crazy device rumors come from random passengers on airplanes. A number of analysts are suggesting the possibility that Apple could be planning a high-end “premium” version of the iPad 2. This device would be targeted at the “professional” market, and include improvements such as front- and rear-facing HD cameras and a higher-resolution display. Another possibility is swapping out the built-in 3G module for a 4G module of similar size.

Of course, these changes would make the already-pricey iPad cost even more. But if business users are willing to buy them in large numbers, Apple might find it a worthwhile addition to the iPad project line.

  1. 99 out of 100 analysts who make predictions about what Apple’s product plans are have been proven to be wrong on a regular basis. This is all wishful thinking. Sure, Apple probably has been experimenting with different iPad configurations but that doesn’t mean they plan to build them. Apple and their manufacturers can barely keep up with demand on the current iPad.
