ASUS MeMO PadThe tablet gods seem happy with us today. Aside from the obvious news of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3-, 8-, and 10-inchers, Taiwanese company ASUS has also rolled out their latest mobile slate computer on Monday. This time, they’ve updated their MeMO PAD, consciously keeping its overall affordability and target audience.

For the most part, the MeMO Pad HD7 takes on where its predecessor left off, remaining a budget-friendly tablet with modest features, perfectly suitable for an average user. The 7-inch tablet introduces HD resolution to the MeMO family with a 1280×800 IPS display and came down a bit in size and weight. It weighs 302g and is slim with a 10.8mm thickness.

Additionally, the device’s hardware specs saw some nice increases. The MeMO Pad HD7 will include stereo rear-facing speakers and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, along with its 1.2-megapixel front camera. It’ll be running Android OS through an ARM Cortex A7, though its speed rating remains unmentioned. And of course, it’ll have Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS and we’re assuming Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.

Set to be available in two flavors, you’ll be able to snatch up a 16 GB model for $149 and a 8 GB for $129 (though the extra twenty bucks seems like money well spent.)

Release dates and availability are still yet to be known.
