TechCrunch reports that Borders is running a big sale on e-book readers for the next week. The sale includes free shipping, a $25 gift card, free e-books, 20% off device accessories, and other incentives.
A number of e-book readers, including Velocity Micro Cruz and Kobo, are $30 off, which brings the price of the Kobo Reader to a low $99.99, and the Aluratek Libre is also $99.99 through November 15th. With the $25 gift card, that means your price for a Kobo or Libre is effectively $75—not bad at all.
I would expect this will only be the first e-book sale we see this holiday season. Black Friday is only about a month away, and I wouldn’t be surprised if e-book readers get some special pricing then as well.
Actually, that $25 gift card doesn’t seem to be available for the Kobo or Libre. $99 is the deal.
