For ten more hours—or until it sells out, whichever comes first—Daily Steals is selling a refurbished Nook Color tablet for $149.99, including shipping. That’s a saving of $100 over the tablet’s current new list price, and $50 cheaper than the Kindle Fire’s list price. Given the Nook Color’s ease of rooting, those less interested in locking into Amazon’s ecosystem might want to give this a shot. I can’t recall ever seeing it listed cheaper.

As with many sudden deep discount sales on refurbished items, this could herald the impending introduction of Barnes & Noble’s new models. Indeed, given the rapid approach of the holiday season, I would expect B&N’s new offerings to be revealed by the end of October at the latest.
