  1. Looking over the deals on Prime Day morning, something that strikes me: no books. No ebooks either.

Is this a sign that books just don’t count so much at Amazon these days? Or if the major publishers had not insisted on agency pricing – and if they did not hate their major partner so much – maybe there would be lots of deals on books?

    • @asotir, yes, agency pricing is a big reason for the lack of ebook deals. Amazon can’t do deals on Big 5 published books. Of course, it doesn’t explain why they aren’t doing a big deal on Amazon imprints.
