From an email I received from Austin Groothuis at CALI:

… over here at CALI because we’ve been working to bring free, open ebooks into legal education with our eLangdell project. We think your readers might be interested in our newest self-published ebook releases, a series that covers three of the most widely-used reference tools for law school and lawyers.

We partnered with the Legal Information Institute at Cornell Law School to publish Federal Rules of Evidence, Criminal Procedure, and Civil Procedure. Here are more details:

We believe this is a pretty big deal because every US law student who takes the an Evidence, Criminal Procedure, or Civil Procedure class (which, in the end, is probably every law student in the US) needs a copy of their respective rules; and every lawyer who practices in those areas at the federal level also needs a copy as well.
