Google Nexus 7Say it with me: Tech is sexy. Feels a bit weird, right? But hey, I’m not the first to say it—I even felt a bit squeamish when I first heard a friend’s reaction to the form factor of a certain mobile device as such. You see this with car enthusiasts, treating their prized ‘whips’ like the true loves of their lives. I have no comment other than, Well, I guess there are far more odd things to be into.

So, taking that notion a bit further, I’d like to pose a question for all y’all: Can having cool tech items get you some — (hmm) — well, could it help you get — wait, I got it: Can having cool tech items make you appear more attractive to the opposite sex?

Google seems to think so.

The first video advertisement for Google’s updated 7-inch Nexus tablet depicts a grade schooler with confidence issues. While nicely illustrating some of the components that make Android’s 4.3 Jelly Bean OS so intuitive, the child is shown researching famously celebrated speeches, learning how to present a powerful speech, compiling a playlist of ‘pump up’ tunes, and using Google Now to stay on top of his daily tasks.

Check it out here:

Overall, it’s a pretty cute little video. Most importantly, the ad does do a relatively good job at showing what the Nexus 7 can do, how easy it is to use, and how it can fit into the lives of its users.

You guys like the ad?

  1. “Get some tail” is an obnoxious idiom, IMHO. I’m a woman. The phrase reminds me of frat boys talking about hunting for a woman to exploit and cast aside. I have never heard a woman say she wants some tail. Could you perhaps revise the headline?
