issuu-65_600One more fresh sign that Windows 8.x tablets are maturing as ereading options: Issuu, which claims to be “the fastest growing digital publishing platform in the world,” with access to some “16 million free magazines,” has just announced the debut of a new Issuu App for Windows 8.1, which joins an existing Android app. According to Issuu, the platform’s features include personalized magazine feed with recommended content, and stackable collections across various devices. The new app is compatible with Surface and Windows 8.1 devices, offering an optimized reading experience for Microsoft’s latest OS iteration.

Issuu also claims 25,000 new publications each day, 80 million users, and “a prominent range of independent publishers utilizing the Issuu network to reach new fans every day.” The company’s materials also state that: “Created by a bunch of geeks with an undying love for the publishing industry, Issuu has grown to become one of the biggest publishing networks in the industry. It’s an archive, library and newsstand all gathered in one reading experience.”

For Windows 8 users, which I guess is going to be an increasing slice of us in future, there it is: check it out if it takes your fancy.
