Well-edited electronic books are leagues apart from junky, self-promotional quickies that some Webmasters are turning out by themselves. The gap could be widening. If you go by Are eBooks Dying?–in eBizForecast–the marketing-oriented dreck is getting still worse:

..more and more ebooks with resale rights are nothing more than running ads. Not only are the first 3-4 pages full of ads for their websites, but every link in the book is an affiliate link for one of the products they are talking about.

No wonder e-books have such a bad rep among people unable to tell real books apart from ads.
