Gizmodo is reporting that Barnes & Noble will be introducing a lower cost Nook with Wi-Fi only by the end of the second quarter. It supposedly will sell for $199.
In addition there is supposed to be a v1.4 software update coming next week, via Wi-Fi, which will include a browser.
Let’s see what happens. One of the comments to the article says: A browser? Really? I can’t even browse my book selection smoothly. This is going to be a train wreck. This is coming from someone who loves the Nook (as much as one can with its shortcomings like useless highlighting and notes capability that don’t work).
On our local news this morning they mentioned that B&N has two new Nook’s upcoming. The Nook 2 and the Nook Lite ($199).
