images.jpgAccording to DigiTimes PVI will be spending $500 million to expand its electrophoretic display business. In addition it will be partnering with Phoenix Publishing & Media Network and fanshu.com for contend development.

PVI indicated that cooperating with fanshu.com can help provide clients with complete solutions combining both hardware and software. It added that fanshu.com has one of the largest database of Chinese-language books, including bibliographical information on 1.8 million published books and 600,000 titles for authorized downloads. The number of authorized downloads is increasing by about 100,000 titles per year, PVI said.

PVI and Phoenix Publishing & Media Network will cooperate to develop China’s educational publishing market and to digitize textbooks and reference books, the company said. Digitized textbooks and reference books can help reduce the consumption of paper and students’ expenses, PVI added.
