But will Uncle’s snoops and their friends fight back? In D.C., there’s even talk of prosecuting Apple and Google for making encryption too easy for terrorists. It isn’t from the feds themselves. But could that not follow in time?

Beware. Many libraries rely on state and federal money to some extent. Will the same kind of people responsible for the Children Internet Protection Act forbid libraries from participating in TOR-related activities?

Still, regardless of this risk and others—such as federal agents infiltrating TOR networks—I believe that the librarians should go ahead.
