Electronics Weekly is reporting this Gartner study. They say that sales will be up 80% over the 2009 sales of 3.6 million and that in 2011 they are projecting sales to top 11 million.
Gartner says that the market has been driven by sales of Kindles, primarily in the North American market and that sales of the Kindle will be just over 4 million units in 2010.
Paul, I interpreted that “just over 4 million” as being the number of e-readers sold in North America (vs. 6.6 million world-wide) in 2010, not the number of Kindles. The wording at EW is rather confusing.
