Well, I guess I’ll probably be waiting a while for a slice of Raspberry Pi. The bare-board version of the $35 computer has launched—and demand promptly slashdotted the retailers offering it (and the Raspberry Pi foundation’s own website). Given that they’re only producing it in batches of 10,000, that probably doesn’t bode well for getting my hands on one early.

Though to be fair, the version being sold now is the uncased version, which might not be appealing to everyone. The educational version in a pre-made case will be coming out later this year, probably for a few bucks more.

It will be interesting to see how many uses people find for it, regardless. Will it give kids a cheap way to read e-books on their TV sets, perhaps?
