Library Journal (LJ) and School Library Journal (SLJ) today opened registration for ebooks: Libraries at the Tipping Point. This full day virtual conference will—for the very first time—bring together the major segments in the library ebook market: public libraries, school libraries, and academic libraries. The conference is scheduled for September 29, 2010 and offers keynote presentations and panel discussions on the evolving concept of the book in a digital world and explores the essential role for libraries in the ebook future.
The day-long conference will allow attendees unprecedented virtual access to leaders and decision makers in the library channel, from publishers and distributors to educators and library innovators as well as thought leaders including keynoters Ray Kurzweil, author of The Singularity is Near; Kevin Kelly, co-founder of Wired magazine; and David Lankes, director of the Information Institute at Syracuse University in New York.
