Amazon has introduced a new scheme that could be ideal for the Christmas season: Customized Kindle covers with your own images used as the basis for the design. The “Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″ Black Origami Case – ‘Create Your Own'” option, for instance, charges $54.99 for a personalized Origami case sized to your Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″ that ships in two to three days, according to the Amazon blurb.

“The customization service on Amazon allows customers to personalize Kindle covers and skins by uploading photographs or choosing from a library of images, logos, designs and patterns,” it explains. The service is also available for other Kindle models at other prices, although it only applies to the polyurethane Kindle Origami covers. And matched with the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″, one of the most wantable Kindles that is certainly going to be finding its way onto many Christmas lists, it is even more appealing.

Sound like a gift option for the Kindle lover you love? It certainly could be a way to jacket that Kindle in a cover from your favorite author. No more complaints about not being able to see what anyone else is reading then.
