scribdIn a bid to continue to stay relevant after paring back its unlimited subscription program last month, Scribd has now announced it’s just added another 6,000 books from Macmillan to its subscription service.

Listed titles include:

Noteworthy fiction: The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick, Lush Life by Richard Price, and more.

Award winners: Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel, The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History by Elizabeth Kolbert, Age of Ambition: Chasing Fortune, Truth, and Faith in the New China by Evan Osnos, and more.

Notable non-fiction: Thank You for Your Service by David Finkel, The World Is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman, The Unwinding: An Inner History of the New America by George Packer, and more.

This is certainly a big chunk of books. Last year Macmillan gave Scribd a thousand titles, then another thousand. If nothing else, adding 6,000 all at once might suggest Macmillan is happy with the changes Scribd has made to its subscription program.

Of course, the vast majority of subscribers won’t read very many of them, given that 97% of subscribers read three or fewer Scribd titles per month.
