PinterestOne of the common refrains we hear from e-book fans is the need for filters—so many books, self-published and otherwise, hit the ‘net each year.

Publishers used to function as valuable screeners, weeding out the ‘good’ books from the bad. But now that anyone can get a book on the Kindle store, how can one sift through what has become the biggest slushpile in the world?

TeleRead to the rescue! With the help of our esteemed editor, Dan, we now have Pinterest boards where our regulars can post book recommendations. Click here to view my board. On it, I maintain a list of DRM-free books I have read and enjoyed. These aren’t just books I’ve earmarked for later—they are all books I’ve already finished, and deem worthy of sharing. There are currently more than a dozen.

Other TeleRead contributors have started boards as well. I’m in the lead with 14 pins, but Dan has nine, Susan has four, and Juli has three.

If you’re in the mood for more Pinterest fun, you can click on our personal avatars at the top of our respective boards and see where it takes you. Who’s the film fanatic? Who’s the baseball nut? Which of us has an impressive lunchbox collection?

Happy browsing!

"I’m a journalist, a teacher and an e-book fiend. I work as a French teacher at a K-3 private school. I use drama, music, puppets, props and all manner of tech in my job, and I love it. I enjoy moving between all the classes and having a relationship with each child in the school. Kids are hilarious, and I enjoy watching them grow and learn. My current device of choice for reading is my Amazon Kindle Touch, but I have owned or used devices by Sony, Kobo, Aluratek and others. I also read on my tablet devices using the Kindle app, and I enjoy synching between them, so that I’m always up to date no matter where I am or what I have with me."
