Hello, everyone. It’s been a bumpy few days, but I’m definitely on the mend after getting out of the hospital. And with that in mind, I’ve decided it’s time to try another TalkShoe podcast—this one recorded live with call-in options available. The scheduled time for this podcast is Thursday, July 2, at 3 p.m. Eastern. Mark your calendars!

Scheduled to be around so far are Juli and myself, but any TeleRead writers are welcome to call in and join the round table. We will discuss the recent news from the last few days, including the Apple appeal verdict and other noteworthy matters.

As for readers, you can listen live as it broadcasts via TalkShoe, including sending in comments via text chat as we are on the air. If you like, you can even call in and chat with us via VOIP or regular phone, once we open the lines later in the show. Or you can download the show for non-live listening later; it’s up to you.

We are not sure yet whether we will still do an actual weekend show, what with this being the 4th of July holiday. We may discuss that once we’re on the air. Please be sure and join us if you can.

I wrote this guide to tell people how to install the Java stand-alone application to take part, but that may be more involved than you want to consider. All you really need to listen is a web browser, and if you want to call in, you will also need a phone that can make a US long distance call. If you’re outside the USA, you may want to use a SIP phone application such as MicroSIP to call in instead. Either way, there will be further instructions on the TalkShoe page itself, beginning 15 minutes before the 3 p.m. air time.

We hope we’ll see you there!
