I’m excited to say that I’m going to be attending my first BookExpo America and BookCon this week, in order to cover the event for TeleRead. (Judging by some of our past coverage, I have a lot to look forward to!) In the spirit of bringing our readers the kind of coverage they want, I’m throwing this post open to ask for advice: are there any panels in particular that you would like me to report on? Any exhibitors I should be sure to catch up with and interview if I can? Any other advice for me? Tell me what you want to read! I can’t make any promises, but I’ll try to accommodate you if I can.

I definitely plan to check out the BEA Bloggers Conference, as it seems like it could provide some very useful information for sites like us. And I’ll be circulating on the show floor, naturally, looking into anything that might seem potentially interesting. But beyond that, I’m open to suggestions, and will try to accommodate them if at all possible. I won’t be able to hit any of the pre-show events on Tuesday, I’m afraid, as the person I’ll be splitting a hotel room with won’t be getting in until Tuesday evening. But I’ll be checking out everything I can from Wednesday morning through BookCon on Saturday.

For that matter, will any of our readers be attending BEA yourselves? If you’d like to meet up and chat at some point during the convention, please get in touch with me and let me know! My e-mail, Skype, and a number of other social media and messaging accounts are linked below my author bio at the bottom of this post; drop me a line.

The same goes for any of our audience who are in Chicago but won’t be at the conference. I’ll have some free time outside of it—especially Tuesday afternoon and Saturday evening, and I’d love to meet with you and hang out! Any Chicago tourism advice would be appreciated, too, bearing in mind that I probably won’t have time for much of it this trip. Given that I’m just three hours and a $50 round trip bus fare away from Chi-town, I might see about coming back sometime there isn’t an event on.

I’ll be arriving via MegaBus around 3 p.m. local time Tuesday, at the Megabus bus stop on Van Buren St., between S. Canal St. and S. Clinton St., and leaving town at 11:59 p.m. Saturday night from the same location. I’ll be staying at the Congress Plaza hotel. I hope I’ll see some of you there!
