In my post about  reading Australian Women Writers in 2012 I included a list of Australian bookshops that were supporting the Reading and Reviewing Challenge for 2012 AND selling ebooks. I wanted to keep the list growing of these bookshops but have the information available on one page.  This list will continue to grow as I’m informed about more bookshops.

I would like to point out though that there is the potential for this post, if viewed out of context, to be a bit misleading. Of course, as you know, it is possible to buy Australian Women Writers from a variety of retailers. What my blog post is aiming to do, in association with Australian Women Writers, is encourage local retailers to support the Reading and Reviewing Challenge for 2012.

For myself, leaving high school in a time of abundance, with many of the battles of equality fought by the women a generation or two above me, I’ve never really had to worry about my place in the world. Of course I know that publishing is populated by mainly women (in Australia at least) and yet the CEO positions are mainly male. It’s only when I became educated about the gender imbalance in literary prizes and reviews that I realised that we have a chance to work on addressing some important issues.
