This is NOT official Sony firmware! It may work but it is not approved by Sony.
The post implies that this is an official Sony releast, it is not.

This is NOT a Sony Firmware release as the header (“Quick Note: Sony releases firmware updates for 350/650/950 readers” would suggest. It is an eBooks Applications firmware release for Sony devices.

To me it looks like third-party, unofficial firmware.
