TeleRead.com is now a static archival site, but we're very much alive at TeleRead.org. Big thanks to Nate Hoffelder of The-Digital-Reader.com, who teamed up on the preservation project with ReclaimHosting.com.
David, the new server is working well: comments go right in quickly, compared with the previous incarnation, where comments took a long time, and sometimes never made it from me to TeleRead, lost in cyberspace.
I would like to suggest that you increase the number of entries that we can view before, at the page bottom, we need to hit the “Previous Entries” button.
This is caused by the fact that, to your (and Paul’s) credit, there is so much activity, every day, on the TeleRead blog!

Big thanks for your useful feedback, Michael.
I’m especially pleased that comments are less of a hassle to make. That annoyed me endlessly about the earlier arrangement. Community members’ insights contribute immensely to the value of the blog.
Let’s see what others think about our performance right now. Even with the faster server, we’re still trying to watch the size of the home page. It’s possible we may increase the number of items a bit.
Happy holidays,
David

This isn’t because of the server, but because of our spam filter flagging your comments. It does this sometimes, I don’t know why, and I usually restore them. If I miss one then it does, indeed, get lost when I delete the spam. No help for this, I’m afraid.
Paul, what you’ve said about the spam filter could be true.
On the other hand, under the old server, after posting the comment, the “progress bar” (on the bottom of the browser) creeped its way up, bit by bit, taking many minutes. … And I think that sometimes these attempted comments just “timed out.”
