On CNet, Matt Hickey posts a poll asking readers how they want to read books in the coming year: Kindle, Nook, JooJoo, iPhone/iPod Touch, or dead tree.

The poll is quite unscientific of course, given that most people who read CNet would be the tech-savvy sort who would be more likely than average to enjoy e-books. And there is no “some other e-book reader” option to take into account the Sony, Astak, and other e-book readers on the market at the moment.

At time of writing, with over 750 responses, about 53% prefer dead-tree books, 22% Kindle, 15% Nook, 9% iPhone/iPod Touch, and 1% JooJoo.

  1. Interesting that 15% would prefer the nook when at the time of the poll, virtually nobody had used one. At least the Sony had been out there for longer than the Kindle by about 14 months and more people read books on their computers than anything else on the list except p-books. Just to keep the record straight, I have 2 Kindles, one Palm Pilot and several computers.
