Good old DRM! TorrentFreak says that DRM prevented the 3D version of the Avatar movie from being watched at all theaters expecting to show them in Germany. Excerpt:
“The complex DRM system, which involves several certificates and server-delivered time-sensitive keys for hard drives and projectors, failed in a way consistent with the movie’s epic status. Unfortunately, after working for several hours cinema workers failed to decrypt 150 gigabytes of data, which resulted in at least one location reverting back to the 2D version. DRM strikes again, this time in 3D.”

Ironically, it is largely due to James Cameron’s lobbying, and for the purpose of showing Avatar, that over 3,000 theaters nationwide have added 3D capacity in the first place.
This gave me a huge headache – prepare for hours of 3D by doing this: http://www.tictacdo.com/ttd/Create-3D-Television Also, There’s no action until the end – a huge build-up for nothing. Like Titanic all over again…
I really enjoyed this movie…I am not sure why some people give it such a bad review… I am guessing its because they watch this movie with their expectations set too high! Watch it online FRE3: WikiBlast. n e t
