sricrop-170x170.jpgThe Inquirer has a good overview article about the future of e-ink, including an interview with E-Ink’s VP of marketing, Sirram Peruvemba. Here are some highlights:

current e-ink screens have a contrast ration of 6 to 1. By the end of the year or early 2011 this will move to 10 to 12 to one.

color e-ink screens will appear in the same time frame. The potential resolution of e-ink will always be higher that that for an LCD.

full screen 30 frames-per-second video at 800 x 600 has been demonstrated in the lab and this takes only 70 percent of the power that an LCD would use.
