eReaders Group today announces the launch of eLinea in The Netherlands. eLinea is an ereading platform where readers can subscribe to articles from top notch national newspapers and regional news articles, opinion columns, news items from leading magazines, cartoons by well-known artists and videocasts from national tv-channels. Readers can access the articles on a range of popular devices like tablets, smartphones, ereaders and computers.
eLinea debuts with article channels from a great number of leading publishers in The Netherlands and Belgium: NRC Handelsblad, Elsevier, Nieuws.nl, Vrij Nederland, Opzij, Psychologie Magazine, J/M voor Ouders, Dolf Jansen, Friesch Dagblad, Joep Bertrams, Reader’s Digest, TRIK, Yvonne Kroonenberg, Tom Janssen, Dagblad De Pers, onzeWereld, VJ Movement, Management & Literatuur, Scilogs, Fleur Speet, Salesmagazine, DJBroadcast, EOS, Psyche & Brein, MO*magazine, eReaders.nl, OnStage and Radio Nederland Wereldomroep.
With the launch of eLinea, publishers now have a new distribution channel through which they can earn fair amounts of money with their digital articles. On eLinea, the publishers set the prices of their channels. Publishers receive 70 per cent of the subscription income.
At the same time, readers have a new way of accessing their favorite content, whenever, wherever and on whichever device they want. Instead of subscribing to a whole newspaper or magazine, they can subscribe precisely to those articles that are issued by their favorite writers and editorial teams.
With eLinea, a new era of reading has started, beginning in The Netherlands. Later this year, eReaders Group expects to start international pilot schemes. International publishers who are interested in issuing their digital content through eLinea are invited to participate.
