According to The Register, News Corp has bought the software platform designed for the Skiff ereader and it has dropped the hardware which won’t be released.
The Skiff what the largest ereader produced and was aimed mainly at newspapers. According to the article the company was set up by Hearst who spent a lot of time working on layout and distribution mechanisms. It is these that News Corp has bought.
