From E-Ink-Info.com:
Hanvon have announced a new 9.7″ e-reader, the WISEreader E920. They say that it is the first one to use a new E Ink display offering 200dpi – the highest resolution e-reader display yet. Check out this photo showing how the compares to a regular E Ink display
This is the same pixel density as the 5″ 600×800 displays. It does seem to be using the Pearl screen with blacker blacks though, which is the only difference visible in the picture.
I agree that Pearl vs Vizplex is what the picture shows, but higher pixel densities do seem to be a new trend. The iRiver Story HD has a 6″ 768×1024 screen, which is about 214 ppi.
It’s kind of hard to assess the quality of the e-ink display, since we’re viewing it through a monitor.
I wonder if they’ll have retail partners?
