According to an article in the Greenslade Blog of the Guardian, three papers owned by the MediaNews Group will, to save money, give up Monday publication. On that day they will drop their paywalls and allow readers to get the content online. For the rest of the week the paywalls will remain up.
This is an experiment, says the company. MediaNews Group owns 56 papers in 12 states.
