Matthew Gray, a software engineer, has used the resources of Google Earth and Google Books to devise maps showing the number of times various places in the world are mentioned in e-books.
Okay, his experiment probably has a limited practical purpose, but don’t you just love this sort of useless information! And it does highlight one of the more interesting uses of e-books—you can search e-book libraries for multiple references, cross-search with other data bases.
Imagine trying to do this with P-books.
