Not saying that this is the case with this software… But if I wanted to get control of your machine… this strikes me as a perfect vector to do so. Deliver you a solution that works and has that little bit of “extra”. The website does an excellent job of hiding the whereabouts of the company, but a whois reveals that the company is located in Hong Kong.
