image Rick Broida on CNet has a review of an interactive e-book for the iPhone—a great example of those rare occasions when interactivity and multimedia for an e-book make sense.

The book is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, turned into an app complete with scrolling artwork and a narrator to read the text as the words highlight. (Or kids can read it themselves with the narration off.) Touching objects on the screen brings up the spoken and written words for what they are. (See the demo video below the jump.)

Though I have not purchased the app myself, from the included video it looks like a great choice for those with kids—especially at this time of year. And at $3.99, it’s a bargain even a Scrooge would not pass up.
