Received an email from Jeff Elkins about a new program he designed for the Sony 505. It’s free, under GNU GPL, and while I can’t vouch for it – my own 505 is dead – it can certainly do some things I would have liked to do on my own machine. Here’s the list of its features:
- Localization: 12 predefined languages
- Unicode fonts with Cyrillic/Eastern European Support
- Add your own fontsets
- Uniform font size for menus and prompts
- Multiple Iconsets (currently 4) or use your own
- One-key shutdown (Joypad center key / Volume keys)
- Personalized About Screen (Name,Telephone,Email)
- Joypad page forward
- Volume key page turns
- Volume key history navigation
- Circle pad history navigation
- Turn off right justification for BBeB books
- Disable number keys when reading
- Clock (24/12 hr)
Especially nice is the fact that the program is available for Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Mac OS X and Linux. If anybody wants to download it and try it out please post your comments here.
