Jeff Bezos hopes that “within the next few weeks,” Amazon will be able to ship Kindles the day of the order.
For the moment, the buy-it-now price of the Kindle on eBay still seems to be $500 or above. My quick impression is that is fewer Kindle for sale on eBays than before. Perhaps the hoarders sense that Amazon really will be able to make good on its promise.
If Bezos can live up to his goal, that will be one more indication that PVI is catching up with demand for E Ink screens. I wonder if this is happening through a ramp-up or Amazon elbowing ahead of other customers. My bet is on a ramp-up. (Via LISNews.)
