mistake.jpegI got the following email from Amazon. I’ve never gotten anything like this before from them, and I’ve had plenty of books with proofing mistakes:

We’re writing about your recent Kindle purchase of An Enemy of the State by F. Paul Wilson. The version you received contained some errors that have been corrected.

An updated version of An Enemy of the State is now available. It’s important to note that when we send you the updated version, you will lose any highlights, your last page read, and bookmarks made in your current version and the locations of any notes may not match the updated copy of the book.

If you wish to receive the updated version, please let us know via e-mail at amazonkindle-feedback@amazon.com.

If you prefer, you can reach us by phone directly and toll free from many countries by clicking the Contact Us option in the right-hand column of our Kindle Support pages at:

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your business with Amazon.

  1. I have a kindle touch, and it does not hold a charge, I have lost several books that I have paid for and were on my device, and I will try once more to buy the books that I want and if it does not work, I will send the device back to amazon. You should have a phone number to contact a live person in order to get information. Not every one is computer literate.

  2. Robert, you never lose your Kindle books that way.

If you purchased a Kindle Book from Amazon they are in your account. You can download them as many times as you want to your Kindle or Kindle App.

The Kindle Touch is a slightly older model but I have one that is much older and it is still kicking along fine.

Emails are the way to go for customer service, I have always gotten a good response that way. I have never even tried to call Amazon for anything.

  3. Robert,

The books are yours forever via an Amazon Device or Kindle App (for android or iPad/iPhone). Don’t worry about that part!

The dead battery part I’d contact Amazon asap on and see where if fits in the warty or cost to replace it. This is a good time to replace it with all the holiday sales, looks like Staples.com has it this week for $59 – a $30 rebate (working out to $29!).
